Reporting Fraud

AusIndustry - How to report Fraud
Fraud reduces the effectiveness of the Government’s policies and programs which assist Australian innovation and industry, and it is the responsibility of AusIndustry (a division of the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research) and its customers to prevent program benefits and privileges from being misused.

AusIndustry is determined to ensure that when fraud occurs, it is rapidly detected, effectively investigated, prosecuted appropriately and the proceeds of the fraud recovered.

What is Fraud?
AusIndustry has defined fraud against the Commonwealth as:
"Dishonestly obtaining a benefit by deception or other means". The definition includes both tangible and intangible benefits.

The Department is determined to ensure that when fraud occurs, it is rapidly detected, effectively investigated, prosecuted appropriately and the proceeds of the fraud recovered.

How to make a report

Reports can be made in writing, by email or telephone to the Fraud Control Officer.

To report a suspected fraud, contact the Fraud Control Officer:
