What does it offer?
The program provides grants of up to $20,000 for retail service stations to reduce the cost of installing or converting infrastructure to supply E10.
There are two types of grants:
• an Infrastructure Upgrade Grant of up to $10,000 for a retail service station that upgrades existing equipment or installs new equipment to provide for the sale of E10. The upgrade completion date must be between 1 October 2006 and 31 March 2008
• a further Sales Target Grant of up to $10,000 for a retail service station that has received the Infrastructure Upgrade Grant and that has achieved an E10 sales target within 12 months of the upgrade completion date.
Who is it for?
To apply for the Ethanol Distribution Program, you must:
• be the owner and/or operator of a new or existing Australian retail service station
• have an Australian Company Number (ACN) or an Australian Business Number (ABN)
• have incurred the cost of an infrastructure upgrade that enables the sale of E10 at that retail service station
• be able to influence the price of petrol at that retail service station.
How do I apply?
Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis from 1 October 2006 to 30 April 2009.
The Ethanol Distribution Program application forms and customer guide are available on the AusIndustry website at www.ausindustry.gov.au.
What is the objective?
The Ethanol Distribution Program aims to:
• increase the number of retail service stations selling 10 per cent ethanol blended petrol (E10)
• increase the volume of E10 sold
• encourage the sale of E10 at a lower price than regular unleaded petrol.
How do I apply?
Any retail service station that is considering an upgrade to E10 should read the Ethanol Distribution Program customer guide and the Infrastructure Upgrade Grant and Sales Target Grant application forms before commencing the upgrade.
These provide the program details, including who is able to apply, a description of eligible expenditure for the Infrastructure Upgrade Grant and an explanation of how the Sales Target Grant is calculated.
These are available from the AusIndustry website or through the AusIndustry hotline on 13 28 46.
